‘Our kids have to get some of these genes right?

She told MailOnline: ‘To do what I did in London and then to come and do it again. I cannot believe it. Honestly I cannot thank the people in the background enough.
‘My coach gets the worst side of me - days when I feel like I physically can’t do it and then he gets the days like today.
‘And it because of those people that I have been able to come here and achieve what I have.
‘In Rio we have absolutely blown everyone out of the park.’
She told how fiancĂ© Jason Kenny had inspired her to victory: ‘I remember seeing see people who I idolise like Chris Hoy and my fiancĂ© Jason Kenny’s medals backing up and I thought how do they do that. It’s so much hard work.’
She added: ‘Jason puts up with so much rubbish on a daily basis from me. We go through such highs and lows. But we are always there for each other.
‘Because we go through the same things together he knows what to say he has been through it himself. That has been such a massive help for me.’
Asked how it feels to be part of the most successful cycle couple in history she laughed and replied: ‘It is kind of weird. I guess it has not really sunk in. For me to be able to come here and do it again, I’m so proud.’
Trott became the UK's greatest female Olympian after beating American Sarah Hammer and Belgium's Jolien D'Hoore.
Moments after she won, the cycling star said: 'I’m speechless, I can’t believe it. I really can’t believe it… that it all came together.
'I honestly can’t thank everyone at home enough. Like the people that you don’t see. The people that really, really help me. The people that help me in the gym to the people who do our data, my nutritionist, I couldn’t have done it without every single one of them .
'Especially to my coach Paul Manning as well, who puts up with my crap on a daily basis. Who has me stropping because I can’t do the powers he’s give me to then to today when it goes really, really well. Honestly, I’m literally over the moon.

‘You think of people like Sir Chris Hoy, who come here and do it time and time again. To be able to repeat my success in London, honestly. It’s just… I can’t even explain what I’m going through right now, I’m just so, so happy.’
Trott went into the final event of the omnium - the points race - with a commanding lead and it was always hers to lose.
Earlier in the evening she won the flying lap event, recording a time of 13.70 seconds.
Trott won the same event at London 2012 and has two team pursuit titles, from London and Rio.

A fourth gold makes Trott the British female Olympian with the most gold medals, ahead of equestrian rider Charlotte Dujardin who won her third gold on Monday.
Trott finished second in the 500 metres time-trial on Tuesday morning, giving her two first-place finishes and two seconds from four disciplines and a total of 156 points.
It is her second gold at Rio after winning the women's team pursuit with Joanna Rowsell, Elinor Barker, Katie Archibald and Ciara Horne, breaking a world record.
Asked if she thought she would receive an award from the Queen he replied: ‘It seems mad to me [to be made a dame].

‘Obviously things like that come with medals, I get that, but me I just feel like that eight year old who started cycling because she absolutely loved it.’
Trott said she had not thought about wheterh she would compete at the next Olympic Games in Tokyo 2020.
She said: ‘The thought of going through all that again [at another Olympic games] frightens the hell out of me.
‘The idea of winning six gold medals? Well we will see. I am just going to enjoy the moment right now.’
She broke down afterwards as she said she just couldn't believe it and thanked her coach for putting up with her 'crap' everyday.

University Student was ask not to put her hands up in a Meeting

A student was almost kicked out of a meeting after she violated a 'safe space' by raising her arm at Edinburgh University.
Imogen Wilson wanted to make a point at Thursday's student council session when she was told off by officials.
The vice-president for academic affairs at the university's Student Association was accused of failing disabled students by not responding to an open letter.
She immediately raised her arm to disagree but was made the subject of a 'ludicrous' complaint and told not to make the gesture again.
Imogen was also warned for shaking her head during the meeting as it again breached the 'safe space' which is part of the university's Student Association rules.
She told INSPIRATION/NEWS'...I raised my arms in disagreement, as we had contacted the writers of the letter and tried hard to organise a meeting. It was for that reason that a safe space complaint was made.'
Student Association policy says that council members should be respectful and considerate.
Section 6c of the safe space policy is defined as: 'Refraining from hand gestures which denote disagreement or in any other way indicating disagreement with a point or points being made. Disagreements should only be evident through the normal course of debate.'
A vote took place to decide whether Imogen should be removed from the meeting after she was accused of breaking the rules.

The vote was in her favour: with 18 people for removal and 33 supporting her staying.
Imogen added: 'I completely understand the importance of our safe space policy, and will defend it to the ground, but I did not think that was fair, and had it gone further I would have either left or argued against it.'
One student, a fourth-year, who wished to remain anonymous, said the complaint was 'ludicrous' and was an 'abuse of the entire intent of safe space'.
'We were having one of the most emotionally tense councils of the year, with the vote on the BDS [The Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions] movement and people speaking who live in Palestine or are Israeli on both sides of the issue
There was ample risk of there being an actual safe space issue taking place—an anti-semitic or Islamophobic comment for instance—but the whole debate was actually remarkably civil despite how emotional it was.'
First-year Edinburgh student Charlie Peters tweeted against the safe space policy and set up a petition against it. By yesterday afternoon it had 1,000 signatures.
'Safe spaces now censor "inappropriate hand gestures" - my university is becoming pathetic,' he told his Twitter followers.

Did China ban Fools' Day?

April Fools' Day is un-Chinese, the country's official news agency said, according to agency France press.
It "does not conform with our nation's cultural traditions, nor does it conform with the core values of socialism," Xinhua news agency declared on micro-blog platform Weibo.
Many users reacted with irony.
"The most amusing 'April Fools' news is that Xinhua is seriously saying 'don't believe rumors'," one comment said.
Even The Global Times, a paper close to the ruling Communist Party, seemed to suggest Xinhua needed to loosen up -- It did that on Twitter, which is not available in China.

Jonathan wins African leadership Person of the Year award

Former Nigeria President Goodluck Jonathan has won the African Leadership Magazine Person of the Year, 2015. Jonathan defeated APC National chairman, Bola Tinubu, founder of ECONET wireless Strive Masiyiwa, former UBA Chairman Tony Elumulelu, President, African Development Bank Akinwumi Adesina and Koffi Anan, former UN secretary general to win the award.

Jonathan's victory was disclosed in a letter sent to him by former, Pro Tempore president of the Liberian senate and chairman of the 2015 African Leadership Person of the Year selection committee, Cletus Wortoson. The letter in part reads :

"There is no one best suited at the moment than your excellency, to advise the continent’s leaders on the merits of good governance and enduring democracy”. Your popular mantra of ‘one man one vote’ and ‘my ambition is not worth the blood of any Nigerian,’ is a message that must be preached loud and clear on the continent, hence our endorsement. It is with great pleasure that I bring you the news of your selection as the African Leadership Magazine Person of the Year, 2015.
Chief among the many factors we considered was your efforts towards promoting good governance in Africa through the promotion of free and fair elections across the continent.  Your recent assignment to Tanzania received accolades and international acclaim, because you discharged the responsibility most creditably.
We resolved that there is no one best suited at the moment than Your Excellency, to advise the continent’s leaders on the merits of good governance and enduring democracy.
The board is fully persuaded that you have served your country, Nigeria, meritoriously, conducted a free and fair election, in which you lost and yet conceded defeat, a development seeing by many in the continent as historical.
Your popular one man one vote’ and ‘my ambition is not worth the blood of any Nigerian,’ is a message that must be preached loud and clear on the continent, hence our endorsement."
